Terms of Service
Last updated: 14 June 2026
These terms govern your use of MailSweep, a Gmail sidebar add-on that helps you bulk-delete emails. By installing or using MailSweep, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please uninstall the add-on.
1. The license
MailSweep is sold as a one-time $5 USD lifetime license. The license is tied to the Gmail address you use to purchase. There is no recurring subscription. The "lifetime" refers to the lifetime of the MailSweep service as offered by us; we do not guarantee any specific minimum period of availability beyond what's required by consumer protection law.
2. Free trial
Before purchasing, MailSweep gives you a 3-day free trial limited to one sweep per day. The trial is intended to let you confirm that the product works on your inbox before paying.
3. Refunds
Refunds are handled by our payment processor, Gumroad, under Gumroad's refund policy. If a refund is granted, your paid status is automatically removed and your add-on returns to trial state.
4. What you're paying for
Your license unlocks unlimited sweeps, unlimited filters, recurring scheduled sweeps, and any future features added to MailSweep at no extra charge for paid users.
5. What MailSweep does and does not promise
MailSweep moves messages to Gmail's Trash, not to permanent deletion. Gmail retains trashed messages for 30 days, during which you can restore them through Gmail's normal interface. This is your safety net for accidental sweeps.
6. Acceptable use
Don't use MailSweep to delete email that you don't have the right to delete (for example, on a corporate account where deletion is restricted by your employer's policy). Don't attempt to use the add-on to attack or interfere with Gmail, our servers, or any other party's systems. We may suspend the license of any account that we reasonably believe is misusing the service.
7. Availability and limits
MailSweep runs on Google Apps Script and the Gmail API. We don't control Google's uptime, quotas, or rate limits. If Google's infrastructure is down or throttles a request, MailSweep may temporarily not work, and that's not something we can guarantee against.
Apps Script also enforces a hard six-minute execution limit per run. For very large sweeps, MailSweep handles this by continuing in the background across multiple runs, but extremely large jobs (hundreds of thousands of messages) may take several scheduled cycles to complete.
8. Warranty disclaimer
MailSweep is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Software has bugs; please review the preview before confirming a sweep.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of MailSweep is limited to the amount you paid for the license. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of data or loss of business, except where such limitation is not permitted by law.
10. Changes to the service
We may add, change, or remove features as the product evolves. If a change materially affects how a paid feature works, we will surface it inside the add-on so you're not surprised.
11. Changes to these terms
If we update these terms in a way that materially affects your rights, we will update the "Last updated" date and notify existing users inside the add-on the next time you open it.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute that cannot be resolved by good-faith discussion will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India.
